I love Mount Rainier.
I long ago lost count of the times I hiked, camped, snowshoed, or just spur-of-the moment drove 210 miles in a long day to hang out on the mountain. Rain, fog, sunshine, snow: it’s all the same to me in my love for Rainier, this sacred ‘spirit of place.’
I am bewitched.

Even when Mount Rainier hides, it’s still a good hike. (Helen Holter, hiking toward Camp Muir, September 7, 2013)
